Allisonville Imagination Chapter
Indianapolis, Indiana
We are a bunch of creative 5th graders at Allisonville Elementary. Our Chapter motto is “We will create to make the world more awesome.” To make the world more awesome, we partnered with great organizations like Indy Humane and School on Wheels, and designed and constructed creations that helped them. For Indy Humane we both built beds and toys for homeless animals, and wrote persuasive blog posts to help some of the animals find homes forever. For School on Wheels, our Chapter created several learning games to be used during 1:1 tutoring with homeless children.
Over the year, we also hacked our desks, learned circuits through littleBits, experimented with Scratch and Makey Makey, did Hour of Code, created our own RSA Animates and taught Indiana University college students how to use technology!

Steve Auslander
Allisonville Elementary | Indianapolis, IN
I teach 5th grade at Allisonville Elementary School in Indianapolis, where my rock star alias is Mr. A-LO (I teach Math concepts to the tunes of popular music). My passion involves integrating engaging technology in classroom instruction. I love watching my students create to show what they know, and I enjoy connecting them with various classes and people all over the world. Last year I was named a PBS Digital Innovator, one of 100 in the country, as well as an Indiana University Jacobs Educator. I am happily married and a father of two amazing kids and two great dogs.
Fun facts: 1) I love Karaoke, and my go to song is “Livin’ on a Prayer.” 2) My Favorite book is Exodus, written by Leon Uris.
