The Global Cardboard Challenge

The Global Cardboard Challenge. Just Build It!

It’s an opportunity for children to build anything they can dream up out of cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. And it’s a chance for communities to come together and play!

Inspired by the short film, ‘Caine’s Arcade’, the Global Cardboard Challenge is a celebration of child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. Kids of all ages are challenged to create and build anything they can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Then communities come together to play

THE GLOBAL CARDBOARD CHALLENGE – SHOULD GO IN THE BLUE FEATURE BOX HERE

This fall, the Imagination Foundation invites the world to participate in our 2014 Global Cardboard Challenge.

Why Participate?

The Global Cardboard Challenge is an opportunity for children to play and learn by using simple materials to build the things they imagine. The Cardboard Challenge:

Lets children explore their interests and passions
teaches valuable “21st century” skills like critical thinking, resourcefulness, perseverance and teamwork
brings communities together to foster and celebrate child creativity

How It Works

Step #1

In the fall, show “Caine’s Arcade” for inspiration, then work with kids to build something awesome out of cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Do it anywhere – schools, backyards, parking lots. Rules, themes, and timelines are yours to determine.

Step #2

The 2014, Global Cardboard Challenge culminates on Oct 11th, a day of play commemorating the flash mob that came out to make Caine’s day in the short film). Invite family, friends and community members to come out and celebrate child creativity. Block parties, show-and-tells, open houses – It’s up to you.

Step #3

Share pictures, video and stories from your Cardboard Challenge (#cardboardchallenge) on Twitter and other social media platforms. Help us build the movement to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in kids around the world.
